There’s someone new on the scene.
I’m moving my weekly newsletter over to Substack. There are no changes needed for you, and absolutely nothing for you to do.
1. Why this, why now
I’m over shouty, polarising and loud social media. Substack is great writing from great people all in one place. You’ll get this in your inbox, but check out the app too - loads of brilliant content you can curate to suit your needs, and replace doomscrolling.
2. Comments and chats
Substack is more interactive. Lots of you message me on Instagram saying ‘great newsletter, here are some thoughts…’ - now you can do that in one place (or not! This can remain completely anonymous). But I do want to build a community where soberistas can support other sober and sober curious sisters. I talk about sobriety having branches that reach out… here’s another way for them to grow
3. No spam.
I’ll still write one newsletter a week (unless I’m knackered / on holiday / out of creative juice). It’ll hit your inbox at the beginning of the week. If you like my emails, please forward to others - there’s an easy subscribe function, and you’ll help me with my aim to support a thousand women reset their relationship with alcohol - and live a fucking brilliant life without it - over the next 3 years.
All about me…
For new subscribers and a refresher for the old faithfuls, here’s who I am, what I do and why I do it:
👋 I’m a midlife mum, a scruffy dog owner, happily (mostly!) married, and a reluctant runner— I’m also a lover of lippy and an avid reader. Oh, and did I mention? I’m sober. I ditched the drink nearly 5 years ago.
🤦♀️ I used to be the first to uncork a bottle and the last to leave the dancefloor. But in 2019, age 39, juggling a media job and wrangling two lively boys with my husband, I realised I leaned too heavily on wine to unwind post-bedtime or gulped down a GnT to switch off from work.
🫠 Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, I hit pause after a booze-filled bank holiday weekend. A bold promise to myself led to a booze-free week, which unexpectedly stretched into a month and then the milestone of 100 days. And you know what? I’ve never looked back.
🙌 Now, I help others embark on the same journey. Through support and sobriety experiments, we can recalibrate your relationship with alcohol. I give you the tools you need, and guide you to a new way of living and thinking about alcohol.
🥰 I also have a Vinted addiction, perhaps too much leopard print in my wardrobe, a husband who still enjoys a drink, a love for the sea, a soft spot for musical theatre, and an undeniable love affair with cheese. Still leading the charge on the dancefloor, what’s in my glass is the least interesting thing about me. 😉
Welcome!
